DIY: Cold Brew Coffee

I stumbled Kicking Horse Coffee during my visits to the Superstore. I admit I was drawn by their dark and simple packaging, and their cute name! So when it's time for me to restock my coffee, I went to the Superstore and grab myself a bag of their dark roast ground coffee: Kick Ass. It was on sale, too, for $10. Score! :D

I wanted to make cold-brewed coffee since I saw the hypes on Instagram. I must admit when I read the benefits of cold-brewed coffee on Kicking Horse Coffee's blog, I just had to make it that same day! Haha.

I used French press and different ratio from the blog, though, and I thought it was gooood :) I'm planning to make it again as it can lasts for up to two weeks in the fridge! Below is my recipe.

You'll need:
(makes one serving)
  • 1/2 cup ground coffee
  • 2 cups water

Instructions:
  • Scoop the ground coffee into a French press
  • Add water
  • Stir and cover
  • Leave in the fridge for a whole night

That's it! In the morning when you wake up, you can give it one more stir and give gently press your French press. Add sugar/honey and milk/cream if you wish. Cold brew coffee is less acidic - it's so smooth and the cold makes it so refreshing during the summer :)
